Going back

Thu Oct 29, 2009, 6:21 AM
I'm going back to school for animation. Graphic Design, while satisfying to finish work and GET work for doing stuff like menus, etc., I'm not sure if it is right for me. I was originally going to go for animation so I'm going to jump on this and work my butt off. Hopefully I will get some better skills out of this... conceptually...

Christmas and new jobs

2) Saiyuki Cast for Anita IP
3) Manga Next Commission of Cloud Strife IP
4) FanGirl T-shirt from Manga Next I WILL SEND IT I PROMISE!!
5) Ethan: 5 page comic (1/5 IP)

Working again... at an Ad company. It's okay, not really any time for me to do stuff I want to do (i.e. draw) but I'm trying to make the effort. I picked up a set of Tarot cards the other day - really fun. I want to try my hand at designing a set... wishful thinking perhaps.

Orphan Works Bill *URGENT*

ANY ARTIST THAT wants copyright law to exist in the future needs to look into this. The government is looking to pass this bill that will take away our rights to any work that we have done, EVER. The purpose of the bill is supposed to open up art works that the originator has died and help museums without having to worry about getting sued by an artist. In REALITY, if a piece of work isn't registered (the artist must pay to register it) anyone can use it without paying the artist. The Illustrator's Partnership is opposing this bill, if you want to look into their actions against the Orphan Works Bill, go here: [link]

To oppose this bill, send them an e-mail at illustratorspartnership@cnymail.com and ask to be put on their list of people who oppose this bill.

To listen to an mp3 of an interview about this bill, go here: [link]

The dude who started this is Peter Jaszi and you can find his side of the story here: [link]

I'm usually pretty passive about stuff like this. but we need to take a stand NOW.

Well, I graduated! I'm officially done with college. On an amazing note, on graduation day I won Best of Show Employer's Choice for my display and portfolio, had 3 interviews, and found a job where I am happily working right now! Linkstar Interactive is the place, and I'm doing web design. Completely awesome!

This weekend was the Romantic Times convention in Pittsburgh, PA, and the debut of an animation project that I worked on, "The Writer's Life", written by Anne Elizabeth, a published author. You can find a link to it on here website here: [link] though I'm not sure that it's up just yet. I was the Art Director for the whole thing, so it was amazing to see the reactions that people had to the finished product. I got to sign autographs too!

I'll be working on getting more art put up here as I finish it, as well as finishing my back commissions. Thank you all for your patience, and I'll be working on your stuff asap.

Anime Festival in NYC is coming up soon. I'm sure I'll see a few of you there! Note me, and I'll look for you; I'll be in the Artist's Alley the majority of the time. Might float around a bit. If anyone has ideas of a product (or pairing) that they would like me to make, just let me know and I'll do my best to make it.

EDIT:
I'm sharing a table with the awesome and talented :iconeshemilana:! She is amazing, I love her line art soooooo much! I'll be coloring some for the Con, so check out the limited edition prints while we're there!

Christmas and the Holidays are coming up, and as a broke college student... I'm sure you get my drift, lol. But if you wanna support me, it might make me draw more! I have stuff here at DeviantArt too, but at CafePress I have these really cool journals for sale. Check'm out! [link]
